Art School of Sergey Malina
Art has been known to be a very rewarding and relaxing activity for many people. It helps to develop a sense of colour and harmony and is an outlet for creativity and innovation.
Sergey Malina has also been teaching art to adults and children for the past 19 years. Many of his students have eventually chosen to pursue a career related to art. In addition to private and group lessons, he has taught courses at the Burlington Art Center, York Region Public School Board (Adults Continuing Education) and at the Newmarket School of Fine Art. He has also held art workshops at IBM and Bank of Montreal.
Throughout the years many of Sergey's students won prestigious awards. Some of them are:
- Winner of The Robert Bateman Get to Know Contest Calendar, National Competition 2010
- Winner of Hillebrand Artist Series Contest (wine label competition)
- Winner of National Birks holiday card design competition
- Multiple winners including first places of Society of York Regional Artists (SOYRA) Juried Exhibitions in oil and pastel categories
- Asked to designed the year book cover for P.A.C.E.
- Winner of cook book cover competition of Nobleton Senior Public School
He currently offers private lessons and group courses at his studio which include fundamental drawing, oil and acrylic painting, pastel portraits and watercolor. Annual art show, trips to the art galleries and outdoor painting sessions are part of the enriching and challenging program.
